About me
Mr Yasser Diab is a Consultant specialising within the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He works at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, London and has private practices at Circle health Hospitals The London Independent Hospital, London & Mount Alvernia Hospital, Guildford, and HCA Hospitals, Princess Grace Hospital, London and the London Bridge Hospital, London.
He has a particular interest in problems that arise during early pregnancy, this includes complex miscarriage problems, recurrent miscarriages and ectopic pregnancy, pelvic pain, acute gynaecology, fibroids, sub fertility, endometriosis, and abnormal uterine bleeding.
Mr Diab graduated in 1984 in Egypt and had his basic specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ain Shams University Hospitals in Cairo, Egypt. When he moved to the UK in 1998, he then undertook further specialist training in the South East Thames Region. This included working as a Senior Registrar, Senior Clinical Fellow and a Locum Consultant at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital for 4 years.
Furthermore, he has completed advanced training and accreditation in performing laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopic surgery, and gynaecological ultrasound.
Mr Diab has been appointed as a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust from May 2009 to September 2014 where he was the clinical lead for emergency gynaecology and early pregnancy services and was the lead consultant for medical education. From September 2014, he was appointed at Guys and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust as a consultant gynaecologist with a special interest in early pregnancy and acute gynaecology, during that period he undertook the position of lead clinician for emergency gynaecology and the lead clinician for undergraduate medical education and the head of service for gynaecology.
As a senior gynaecologist, his scope of practice includes the mentoring and supervision of resident doctors and less experienced consultants and performing complex open, vaginal and key hole gynaecological procedures. He has special research interest and publications in the field of gynaecological surgery.
