About me

Mr F Dinah FRCS(Tr&Ortho) qualified from the Royal London and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals in 1996.

He completed his postgraduate orthopaedic training in the South West Thames region of London. During this time, he published several articles in the orthopaedic literature, successfully completed the Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine (UK) in 2006, and also undertook a 12-month research fellowship in orthopaedic biomechanics and bioengineering at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore MD, USA.

He completed a year as a specialist knee fellow in the UK, during which he also developed an interest in primary hip replacement surgery. On completion of his training he commenced his Consultant career at Addenbrooke’s Hospital (Cambridge, UK), and was then appointed to a substantive consultant post at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals NHS Trust in 2010.

His NHS practice involves a general orthopaedic trauma service (St Helier Hospital) as well as a specialist lower limb elective service (Epsom General Hospital and SWLEOC). His interests include all types of arthroscopic knee surgery (ligament, cartilage, meniscus), as well as partial or complete joint replacement surgery for knee arthritis. He also undertakes routine primary hip replacements using traditional and modern implants and bearing surfaces. He also offers a new bone-reinforcement treatment for osteoporosis.

He is on many departmental and hospital clinical governance and management committees for orthopaedics. He regularly attends regional, national and international meetings and courses for Continuing Professional Development.
