About me
Mr Michael Lemon studied medicine at Oxford University from 1989 - 1995, and completed his Orthopaedic Specialist Registrar Training on the South West London rotation 2001-2006. In 2007, he completed his Fellowship training in the following areas:
TKR, partial and revision knee replacement Complex arthroscopic knee ligament reconstruction.
Knee Fellowship with Malcolm Glasgow and Professor Donell, internationally recognised experts in partial knee replacement and patellofemoral disorders respectively.
In 2008 he spent a year as a consultant knee and hip surgeon at The South West London Elective Orthopaedic centre, and was trained there and in France in techniques of muscle sparing hip replacement.
Mr Lemon has published clinical and research papers on several aspects of knee, hip and trauma surgery in internationally recognised orthopaedic journals.
He has carried out trauma research at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, and has an ongoing interest in optimising recovery and performance following knee and hip replacement surgery.
I stay up to date with advanced knee replacement techniques, regularly using robot assisted surgery, medial pivot designs and am part of a world leading group employing patella pressure monitoring in knee replacement with the aim of optimising outcome and patient satisfaction.
