About me
am a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Clinical Director for the Department of Neurosurgery at the National Hospital for Neuorology and Neurosurgery. I treat patients from around the world at five state-of-the-art hospitals in London.
I provide consultation and treatment for back pain, neck pain, and arm and hand symptoms that result from damage or excessive pressure on nerves. For those conditions I perform peripheral nerve surgery such as carpal tunnel decompression or surgery on the spinal column such as lumbar discectomy. I treat degenerative spine disease, and perform spinal surgery, as well as treating hydrocephalus.
I have specialist knowledge & experience in treating neurological tumours and brain vasculature; providing surgery for aneurysms, arterio-venous malformations (AVMs), and cavernomas. I perform awake procedures and stereotactic radiosurgery in the form of Gamma Knife and Cyberknife.
I pride myself on compassionate, sensible treatment. My caring and conservative approach with patients is to communicate my surgical diagnosis with a kind simplicity and clarity. I ensure that the patient understands all options and procedures available to them, as well as reassure the patient and their family throughout the course of decisions for their illness and/or treatment.
I hold regular private patient clinics at Highgate Hospital, the Private Consulting Rooms at Queen Square & the London Clinic Consulting Rooms. My team are always on-hand to arrange individual patient appointments, whether that be at short-notice, or where appropriate, multidisciplinary clinics (eg complex neurovascular clinics).
