About me

Mr George has a subspecialist practice exclusively dealing with conditions in and around the hip.
His surgical practice is split between hip preservation procedures such as hip arthroscopy for injuries and conditions affecting young adults and hip replacement surgery (primary and revision). Whilst Mr George deals with hip problems in patients of all ages from adolescents upwards, many of his patients are young adults wishing to return to high end activity. He has a special interest in performing uncemented hip replacements with ceramic bearings via minimally invasive soft tissue sparing approaches.
Prior to moving into full time private practice in 2023, he spent 15 years as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, a tertiary referral centre, developing a wealth of experience in both routine and complex hip problems. During his time at Guy's and St Thomas', he held several departmental and Trust clinical leadership positions. He was the Orthopaedic Clinical Lead and Hip Unit Lead, launching a day case hip replacement surgery programme and set up and chaired a regional weekly multidisciplinary hip meeting to allow colleagues to discuss and plan the management of complex surgical cases including metastatic cancer.
