About me
I am a Consultant Endocrinologist based at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. I undertook Specialist Training in General Internal Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology in the Northern Region. This included three years of research into the epidemiology of diabetes prevalence and the impact of chronic kidney disease on diabetes mortality in South Tees. I chair the sub-regional Thyroid Cancer/Endocrine MDT in Teesside.
My areas of interest include management of diabetes emergencies, complex Type 1 and type 2 diabetes and acute in-patient diabetes. My interests in Endocrinology include all aspects of general endocrinology, management of thyroid nodules/goiter , adrenal and pituitary disease(including pituitary tumors), hyperparathyroidism, male hypogonadism, familial endocrine cancer genetic syndromes(MEN1, VHL) and pediatric transition endocrinology.

Thyroid disease( primary hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism /Graves disease/thyroid nodules and goiter)
Parathyroid disease (idiopathic hypoparathyroidism and primary hyperparathyroidism, metabolic bone disease )
Pituitary disease and pituitary tumor assessment and investigation of hyperprolactinaemia (raised prolactin)
Adrenal disease including investigation and medical management of adrenal tumours /Phaeochromocytoma/ Endocrine hypertension
Special interest in endocrine cancer genetic syndromes (MEN /SDH -familial paraganglioma /VHL) and paediatric transition endocrinology( age 18 and over)
