About me
Mr Satyadas has been for 15 years a Consultant HPB Surgeon in Manchester University Hospital as a specialist in liver and pancreas cancer and gall bladder and hernia surgery. He has performed the highest number of Robotic Liver and Pancreatic resections in Manchester and is developing Robotic surgery for complex Liver and Pancreatic resections.
Trained in Cambridge, Adelaide and Paris and having had prestigious fellowships in Heidelberg and Berlin, Mr Satyadas provides a bespoke approach to patient care.
After completing his Basic Surgical Training in London, Mr Satyadas undertook a period of surgical science research at the Royal Free University Hospital, London. His Liver and Pancreas cancer surgery training was in Cambridge. During this time he also obtained travelling fellowships and visited the world-renowned European Pancreatic Cancer Centre in Heidelberg and Liver Cancer Centre at the Virchow Klinikum in Berlin.
Mr Satyadas completed his specialist training at the liver and pancreas surgery (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary¬) Unit in Cambridge. From there he pursued further specialist training by obtaining the fellowship at the Liver and Pancreatic Cancer Unit at the University of Adelaide for a period of 16 months. On completion, he worked in Paris for 6 months as a Laparoscopic liver and pancreas fellow with Professor Brice Gayet at the Institute of Mutualiste Montsouris . Mr Satyadas is one of the leading keyhole surgery experts in Manchester in liver and pancreas, gall bladder and hernia surgery..
The specialist training and prestigious overseas fellowships Mr Satyadas received in the UK (London and Cambridge), Europe (Paris, Heidelberg, Berlin) and Australia has provided him with extensive experience in performing complex General, Laparoscopic and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgical operations.
Mr Satyadas has been trained and has excellent experience in performing keyhole liver and pancreas cancer surgery,repeat hepatectomies for colorectal liver metastases and keyhole groin hernia and gallstone surgery. He has also developed specialty interest in minimally invasive “key-hole” surgery. Throughout his practice he has consistently provided the best treatment for his patients. His philosophy is based on shared decision making principles with the patient, enhanced recover and day case surgery.
Mr Satyadas has a passion for surgical innovation and believes in enhanced recovery after surgery. Whenever it is indicated, he will offer Robotic or keyhole surgery to his patients e.g. Robotic or laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic removal of bile duct stones and laparoscopic groin hernia repair (all types) and Robotic and Laparoscopic liver and pancreas surgery
