About me

I am a Consultant Laparoscopic Colorectal and General Surgeon. I qualified ( M.B.B.S) in 1993 from University of Kerala. I did my Post Graduate qualification, Master of Surgery Course in Mumbai, Indian in 1997. I started working in the UK after being successful at the FRCS examination held by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1998.

I did my initial training in the South of England. I was successful in getting onto the Specialist Registrar Training Programme in the West Midlands in 2000. I have rotated through numerous Teaching Hospitals and worked under eminent Surgeons and have gained valuable specialist skills as a Colorectal and General Surgeon.
I believe in offering a patient centred service. No two patients are the same . I pride myself in being able to tailor an individual treatment plan for each patient . I take a lot of time in explaining the condition, the risks of surgery and most importantly the limitations of surgery so that patients have very realistic expectations at the end of the consultation. If surgery is not the right option I give patients alternative treatment and management strategies.I am a competent and high volume Endoscopist with excellent outcomes. I am also an accredited Endoscopy Trainer and have been a Faculty Member of the East Midlands Endoscopy Training Centre at King's Mill Hospital.

I have published extensively in my training years in peer reviewed journals, presented at international meetings and as a Consultant I have mentored numerous Juniors with academic presentations and publications.

Following my Specialist Registrar Rotation I did a Laparoscopic Colorectal Fellowship at Bristol in 2006.

I was appointed as a Consultant Laparoscopic Colorectal and General Surgeon in 2007.
