About me
Mr Lawrence Okiror is a Consultant Thoracic and Robotic Surgeon at London Bridge Hospital and The Lister Hospital, Chelsea. His NHS practice is at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, one of Europe's highest-volume thoracic centres.
He specialises in the assessment and treatment of lung nodules, early lung cancer, and emphysema. Most procedures are performed using minimally invasive keyhole or robotic techniques, allowing faster recovery and preservation of lung function.
He offers rapid access to diagnosis and treatment, including ION navigational bronchoscopy and robotic lung surgery, with assessment typically available within a few days. Over 150 lung operations are performed each year, more than 80% using robotic or keyhole techniques.
Dr Okiror leads the Central Airways Service and Advanced Emphysema Surgical Service at Guy's and St Thomas', and chairs the Cardiothoracic Surgery Robotics Advisory Panel at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England � FRCS(CTh) � and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh � FRCSEd(CTh).
