About me
Dr Mitra has been a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital (Cwm Taf University Health Board) and the University Hospital of Wales since 2008 practising all aspects of Cardiology with a special interest in Interventional Cardiology.
After qualifying from the University of Calcutta, he trained in South Wales, Newcastle and the London area. He obtained his MD research degree from the Univeristy of London in 2005.
Areas of interest
Investigation and management of the following:
breathlessness; chest pain; angina; palpitations; faints; blackouts & loss of consciousness; heart rhythm disturbances (arrhythmias); high blood pressure (hypertension); heart valve disease; heart failure.
My sub-speciality interests lie in the expert management of angina & heart attacks due to coronary disease. I offer the following: coronary angiography; coronary angioplasty; (working with balloons and stents).
My research interests are in Atrial Fibrillation; coronary artery disease; cardiac rehabilitation.
I offer a range of cardiac diagnostic test interpretation (ECG; Echocardiography;exercise treadmill testing; heart rhythm monitors).
