About me

I have been working as a Consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) since 2010. In 2013 I have been appointed as an Honorary Professor at the University Of Manchester.
I currently lead the children’s bone and mineral disorder service. I completed my training in Paediatric Endocrinology at the Royal London Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and University College London Hospital. After this, I completed MD (Research) training in the genetics of childhood growth at the Institute of Child Health at University College London.

My clinical expertise is in the field of children’s hormone problems, bone and calcium disorders (primary and secondary osteoporosis in children and adolescents), and diabetes. I have vast experience in managing children and adolescents with problems related to growth (short and tall stature), puberty (early and delayed), underactive (Hypothyroidism) and overactive (Hyperthyroidism) thyroid gland, obesity, and menstrual disorders in females.

I have a strong research interest and I am managing clinical trials in new medications for bone and calcium disorders. I am recognised nationally and internationally for teaching and training in the field of endocrinology. In addition, I have authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. I advise nationally and internationally on the management of children and adolescents with endocrine problems, in particular bone and calcium disorders.
