About me
Kailas Munot is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at York Hospital and sees private patients at the Nuffield Hospitals In York and Leeds. After completing higher surgical training in Yorkshire in general surgery with a special interest in breast surgery he was awarded the coveted National Oncoplastic and Breast Reconstructive Fellowship. He was presented with a MD for his research into the genetics and epigenetics of breast cancer by the University of Leeds.
He works exclusively in breast surgery and is highly experienced in both breast cancer and reconstructive surgery as well as cosmetic breast surgery. He was successful in obtaining a coveted National Oncoplastic and Breast Reconstructive Fellowship in Birmingham.
He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease, both benign and malignant and performs specialist breast conservation techniques for cancer patients including therapeutic mammoplasty.
Mr Munot uses a variety of techniques for breast reconstruction including implants and latissimus dorsi flap, including newer techniques with implant reconstruction such as autologous dermal sling, acellular dermal matrix and prepectoral implant reconstructions. He has taught on a number of breast reconstruction and cosmetic breast surgery courses.
Mr Munot has been certified in cosmetic breast surgery under the Cosmetic Surgery Certification Scheme by the Intercollegiate Cosmetic Surgery Oversight Committee of the Royal College of Surgeons.
