About me

My background as a general surgeon (including laparoscopic work) and then as a vascular surgeon has enabled me to build up a complex vascular practice. Whilst the first 10 years as a consultant was spent dealing with abdominal, extremity and carotid surgery, my focus is now on managing the complex condition of thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS).

I offer a full range of services which commences with a comprehensive neuro-vascular assessment followed be movement impairment evaluation. I supervise physical therapy, investigate and offer surgical intervention where appropriate. All three approaches to thoracic outlet decompression are performed, i.e. supraclavicular, paraclavicular and transaxillary. The transaxillary approach is conducted in Spire Manchester hospital using a high-definition video-assisted system. Subclavian vein reconstruction is regularly offered where appropriate.

This is a high volume practice and patients contribute to their own reported outcome measures. My results are audited, presented & subject to peer review on a regular basis which is discussed with my patients. This is a specialised neurovascular practice and I collaborate with other TOS specialists from the United States to ensure up to date practice. I have certification for continuing professional development in this complex field to assure my patients that they are receiving best practice. I also see patients with recurrent TOS, TOS-related chronic regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and selective medico-legal cases.

I treat the Nutcracker syndrome by way of venous reconstructive surgery and also offer treatment of hyperhidrosis and facial flushing by way of thoracoscopic sympathectomy.
