About me

Mr Southgate was an undergraduate at the University of Wales, College of Medicine (Cardiff). His early surgical training was in Swansea and Cardiff, before undertaking higher surgical training on the South East Thames training circuit.

He developed his interest in surgery of the foot and ankle by undertaking a fellowship in the subject in Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals, gaining exposure and specialist training across the full range of adult foot and ankle pathology.
Mr Southgate has presented and published research on a range of subjects to national and international orthopaedic meetings and journals.

He is a keen angler, mainly flyfishing for trout, in local waters and further afield. He has held a lifelong interest in natural history, and is a fellow of the Linnean Society of London. He follows his hobbies as actively as possible with a young family.
