About me

Thomas is a Highly Specialised Eating Disorders Dietitian with the BDA and HPC.

He is also a registered Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapist (CBT) with the BABCP, however he no longer offers this service though BUPA funded clients.

Both approaches and governing bodies are recognised as the Gold Standard in Evidence Based Treatments in their respective fields of Psychology and Clinical Nutrition.
For over 15 years, Thomas has predominantly been working in the fields of Eating Disorders, Personality Disorder and Complex Trauma. Treating disturbed Body Image and low Self Esteem is intrinsic work to all these conditions and has led to this area of psychology becoming a special interest along-side Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). He is trained and practices with both the NICE (2017) recommended treatments for Eating Disorders: CBT-E and MANTRA.
His unique dual qualifications have many advantages when working with both the psychological and physical impact of many conditions. He is adept at working as a dietitian alongside a therapist, as a therapist alongside a dietitian or when advantageous to the client’s treatment he is able to facilitate both roles. He is recognised in both professions by all the leading insurance companies.
Thomas has worked as both a Dietitian and Psychotherapist at the following institutions:-
- The NHS (WLMHT) Adult Eating Disorder services as well as the Child and Adolescent mental health services (2005-2013)
- Cygnet Hospital's Inpatient Eating Disorders and Personality Disorder services (2007-2019)
- The Priory Roehampton's Personality Disorder, General Adolescent and Eating Disorder's inpatient, outpatient, adolescent and adult services (2013-2018)
- Private practice in London for the last 10 years, with both adults and adolescents.

Thomas brings a broad experience and compassionate skills base to his work with clients, to help develop an effective, empathetic and collaborative approach to minimise distress and maximise a sense of control and empowerment.
