About me
I have been a Consultant Surgeon at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh since 2003.
I have extensive specialist interest in LAPAROSCOPIC CHOLECYSTECTOMY. including laparoscopic and open redo operations for remnant gall bladder. I am also a very experienced THYROID and PARATHYROID surgeon having done over 1000 of each procedure, including many re exploration operation for recurrent hyperparathyroidism and genetic syndromes. I also do parathyroid surgery in children at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children Edinburgh. I am a member of the South-East Scotland Endocrine Multidisciplinary group specialising in thyroid and parathyroid surgery for advanced and metastatic cancers.
In additionn I regularly do emergency and elective General Surgery at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and St John's Hospital Livingston, specialising in hernias of all types.
