About me

Professor Maneesh Bhatia is a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon working at the University Hospitals of Leicester, Nuffield Health Leicester, and the Spire Leicester Hospital. Maneesh enjoys teaching and is a Professor at De Montfort University Leicester and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester. He is passionate about foot and ankle research and education. He is the founder and director of British European Foot Ankle Academy (BEOFAA) that aims at educating young orthopaedic surgeons globally. He is a council member of the European Foot Ankle Society (EFAS). He plays a very active role as a committee member of the Scientific Committee of the European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS) and the Education Committee of the British Foot Ankle Society (BOFAS) and has written three books in the fields of foot and ankle surgery, joint injections and Orthopaedic education for Primary care that have been translated in international languages. One of these books won the prestigious BMA best book award in 2021. He is currently writing his 4th book on Foot Ankle Surgery due to be published in 2025/26.
