About me
I have over 20 years experience working with adults with mental health difficulties in both the private sector and the NHS.
I am currently employed as the joint Academic Director on the University of Liverpool Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at The Clinical Psychology Practice.
After gaining a first class undergraduate psychology degree at Liverpool University (2002) I worked for 2 years at the Institute of Psychiatry on a large research study investigating the effectiveness of CBT & Family Interventions in severe and enduring mental health problems. I then went on to complete her Clinical Psychology Doctorate at Manchester University (2007) whilst developing a specialist interest in clinical health psychology. Since then I have worked as a Registered Clinical Psychologist in the NHS both full-time and part-time across a number of large hospital Trusts in Greater Manchester.
The Clinical Psychology Practice was established in 2009 by Dr Hannah Bashforth and Dr Sophie Halliday to provide expert, evidence-based psychological services within the private sector.
