Senior Consultant Anaesthetist and Clinical Informatician in a substantive post at NHS Lanarkshire. I provide consultant level Anaesthesia Service cover at University Hospital Monklands (535 acute beds).
One of the NHSL Digital Health Clinical Leads & Clinical Informatician, providing clinical input into the NHS Lanarkshire eHealth/Digital Health developments.
Clinical input at UHM Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic and Perioperative Medicine.
Experienced in Healthcare and Personnel Management at senior level including Rota Consultant and Coordinator in various posts for complex anaesthesia, paediatric critical care retrieval and PICU cover.
I support the ethics, principles and philosophy of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) and my favourite operating system is Linux. Other interests computing, reading, cycling and photography.
Areas of interest
My professional interests include pre-operative assessment, perioperative medicine, paediatric anaesthesia, quality improvement, ehealth, healthcare informatics and the application of new processes, technology and software in healthcare, clinical safety process for technology adoption (CSO) and also cyber security aspects applicable to healthcare in general, but also healthcare device security.
