About me

I graduated medicine from a distinguished London Medical School and then underwent my Basic Surgical Training in London where I grew a passion for General Surgery especially in cancer treatment. This passion led me to seek a career based on Breast Cancer. I completed my Higher Surgical Training in The Sheffield Teaching Hospitals with a keen interest in Breast Surgery. I had also taken several years away from surgery to undertake a Doctorate Degree at Nottingham University where I was fortunate to be taught by the great late Professor Roger Blamey.
Having gained my CCT in General Surgery with specialist interest in Breast Surgery I was appointed Consultant Breast and General Surgeon at a large University Hospital in the West Midlands. During my period there I underwent a years mentorship with a Plastic Surgeon in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery.
I am now currently a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at a mid sized district hospital. I am committed to the complete wellbeing of my patients and treat well over 100 breast cancers a year with a significant number undergoing major reconstructive breast surgery. I also provide a high level of care for patients with all types of hernia with a very high level of satisfaction.

Areas of interest

Breast surgery
All patients with benign and malignant breast conditions. I am in the forefront in the initial diagnosis, investigation and management decisions via the multidisciplinary team meeting (MDT). I perform all the procedures necessary to help the patient through their surgical treatment. The procedure can vary from simple day case diagnostic excisions to major mastectomy and pedicled reconstruction.
General Surgery
I have a very keen interest in the surgical management of hernias of all forms from simple umbilical to large and complex recurrent incisional hernia requiring abdominal wall reconstruction. I perform significant volumes of all forms of hernia yearly.
