About me

Mr Colin Nnadi completed his Orthopaedic training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery on the Wessex rotation UK. He was awarded the FRCS(Orth) in 2006. Mr Nnadi has fellowship training from the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London and the Norfolk and Norwich University Teaching Hospital. He worked as a Consultant at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. He took up his present post as Consultant Spine Surgeon at the Oxford University Hospitals in December 2008. Mr Nnadi was Clinical Lead for Spine Surgery in Oxford from 2017 � 2023 and Clinical Director for Neurosciences from 2023 � 2025. He is currently Divisional Medical Director for Surgery, Women's and Oncology (SUWON) Oxford University Hospitals since June 2025. These roles have covered operational, workforce, financial and quality assurance issues affecting health service provision. He has also recently taken up the role of Chair of the Oxford University Hospitals Robotic Oversight Group.

Mr Nnadi is an expert in all aspects of general and complex spinal surgery. He has a particular interest in paediatric and adult spinal deformity with the focus on early-onset scoliosis. He has studied and published extensively on this topic, both in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. He is also the convenor for the Oxford Early Onset Scoliosis meeting which is one of the most prestigious spine meetings.

Mr Nnadi is on the editorial board of the European Spine Journal. He has also been an Expert Medical Technology Adviser to the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE).

Mr Nnadi is an ex-Chair of the International Growing Spine Committee for the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) and a former PhD Assessment Committee member (2020 & 2023) for University of Copenhagen Denmark.

Mr Colin Nnadi was an AOSpine international faculty member; Ex-Research Committee Chair for the British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS), He is on the Editorial board of the European Spine Journal and was a VTE Guidelines Committee member for NICE. Mr Nnadi was also a member of the Paediatric Device Task Force of the Scoliosis Research Society. He is also founder of the Foundation for Early Onset Scoliosis CIO
