About me
Alison has over 20 years experience in the NHS and over a decade in private healthcare. She is the Clinical Lead Dietitian for the Gastrointestinal Dietetic Services at St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Alison is a member of the British Dietetic Association Gastroenterology specialist interest group and Lead for the sub-group specialising in intestinal rehabilitation.
Alison qualified as a Dietitian in 2002 following undergraduate studies within the area of food science and nutrition, followed by postgraduate dietetic training. She completed her Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2005 and has completed a further Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice at St. George's University of London.
Within her private practice she specialises in digestive issues and gut health helping clients with functional gut disorders. She completed training in the FODMAP dietary approach to help gastrointestinal symptoms at Kings College London in 2012. She is experienced in managing conditions such as coeliac disease, crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, pancreatic dysfunction and diverticular disease. In addition, Alison is experienced in helping patients develop healthy balanced eating habits to optimise general health and weight management and is trained in behaviour change skills helping patients and clients to identify long-term lifestyle strategies for health.
