About me
Dr Ravish Katira is a well experienced consultant cardiologist with over 37years experience practicing at Spire Liverpool Hospital and Fairfield Independent Hospital. He has specialist expertise in heart failure, coronary artery disease, heart valve disorders, hypertension and atrial fibrillation along with cardiac risk assessments prior to non cardiac surgeries. He is an expert in primary prevention advice and regularly conducts heart MOT clinics ensuring comprehensive cardiac care for his patients.
In his current clinical practice Dr Katira offers virtual and face to face consultations, providing accessible and personalised care to his patients. He maintains close collaboration with cardiac surgeons and interventionist in Liverpool and Manchester, allowing discussions with multidisciplinary teams for complex cases; thereby offering lifesaving treatments and significant symptomatic reliefs.
Dr Katira earned his medical degree with honours at Meerut University in India in 1987 followed by post graduate education resulting in MD (Medicine) and DM (Cardiology) degrees. Thereafter, he was awarded FRCP (London) . Having migrated to UK in 1996, Dr Katira further developed his expertise in cardiac imaging including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, CT coronary angiography, invasive coronary angiography and complex device work.
Beyond his clinical practice he holds significant roles in healthcare leadership and education. As a senior NHS consultant cardiologist and Post graduate clinical tutor at Mersey and West Lancashire NHS Teaching Hospitals, he leads various sub specialities including community heart failure services, nuclear cardiology and coronary CT angiography. Furthermore he is the speciality cardiovascular lead for Northwest coast of National Institute of Health and Research.
Outside of his clinical work, he holds professional membership with British Society oof Echocardiography , British Society of Heart Failure, British Cardiovascular Society and British Medical Association. He serves as a director of British Association of Cardiologists of Indian Origin and is an active member of European Society of Cardiology Working Groups on �Cardiovascular Pharmacology� and �E Cardiology.�
