About me
Mr Augustine Akali

Augustine Akali is one of the UK’s leading Plastic Surgeons with practices in Hull, York, Grimsby and London’s Harley Street. He also works as an NHS Consultant across Yorkshire and the Humber. He specialises in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery (including lipomodelling), tummy tucks, liposuction and body resurfacing as well as post weight loss surgery, eyelid correction and skin cancer treatment.
With over 20 years experience, he is an award-winning surgeon, highly sought after for his pioneering and state-of-the-art procedures, and receives referrals for more complex patients from surgeons and colleagues both here in the UK and internationally.
Having qualified as a medical Doctor in Nigeria in 1989, Mr Akali undertook post-graduate training in the UK between 1993 and 1996. He is registered with the General Medical Council and is on its Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery. He is a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, and has a Master’s Degree from University College, London.
Notably, Mr Akali’s training in plastic surgery led to him gaining the Intercollegiate Specialist Fellowship Plastic Surgery Award. His final training included the acclaimed Mersey-Manchester Cosmetic and Supra-speciality fellowship in Microsurgery and Breast reconstruction. He took up his official post as Consultant in 2007.
Mr Akali is passionate about making a difference and impacting the lives of his patients for the better. Indeed, they comment on the outstanding level of care he shows them before, during and after surgery.
On top of his busy schedule, Mr Akali commits to teaching and training Plastic Surgeons in the UK and around the world. He is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and presents his findings at international scientific meetings.
