About me

I graduated with one of only 4 honours degrees awarded in my class of over 140 graduates.
I was also the only graduate of my year group to jointly have a first class honours BMedSci degree.

I trained in the North West of England in cardiology and at the prestigious University of Western Ontario, Canada, with one of the founders of modern Electrophysiology, Professor George Klein.

I am a highly experienced consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist with over eleven years of consultant experience. Annually I perform one of the highest volumes of catheter ablation procedures in the UK.

My main interest is ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF). I perform both CRYO ablation and radio frequency ablation for atrial fibrillation.
My ablation data is audited and presented annually and has continually showed high success and very low complication rates.
I have published widely in the field of heart rhythm disorders (see publication list).

I also carry out ablation procedures for Supraventricular tachycardias (SVT) and implant both pacemakers and ICDs.
I am the lead for the left atrial appendage occlusion implant program at UHSM.

My goal is to establish a precise diagnosis of your cardiac condition and jointly plan an individual program of treatment that best suits your wishes.
I like to adopt a holistic approach to your care, ensuring that all avenues of treatment are explored including lifestyle, medical and interventional.
I pride myself on good, clear communication skills.
