About me
I qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine and undertook junior medical training in South Wales and in Cambridge.
I undertook orthopaedic specialist training in Bath and the Wessex region.
I have completed a specialist fellowship in upper limb surgery at the biggest upper limb centre in Canada.
I have also undertaken additional training at the Mayo clinic in the USA.
I was appointed as a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2008.
I have a keen interest in teaching at all levels. This includes medical students and junior doctors as well as training orthopaedic consultants and GPs on specialist courses.
I am Orthopaedic Lead clinical tutor for Keele Medical School and am an honary clinical lecturer for Keele Medical School.
I have received excellent feedback on my teaching.
I have learnt how to explain complex matters in very simple terms which help patients understand their condition.
I take time to ensure that all the patient's questions are answered to their satisfaction.
I am trained in open and keyhole (minimally invasive) surgery to the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist.
I will always try non-operative treatments first and successfully treated many patients without surgery.
