About me

I am a Senior Accredited BACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist. My counselling career started over 28 years ago. My first clients were victims of serious crime through Victim Support and the Police. I was employed at SCILL (Sutton Centre for Independent Living and Learning) as a Senior Counsellor providing counselling for clients with disabilities. I ran "Stress Management" and "Making the Most of your Memory" courses to help clients deal with the stress related to their disabilities and the impact it had on their families and friends and memory loss after head injuries and strokes.

I helped to set up Headway Sutton as a Director, running meetings, supporting members and counselling clients who had had serious head injuries after accidents. In particular clients who had lost their sight damaged through the head injury or surgery. Sadly the Sutton Branch had to be closed some time ago.

I have been in private practise for many years. It allows me to see clients when needed and do home visits if the client is not mobile, blind or unable to go out if they live near to me.

I see clients of all ages from 16 years to 90 years. I attend critical incidents for debriefing and groups after sudden deaths or traumas in the workplace.

My interest also are early Dementia and or Parkinson's. Helping clients and their families come to terms with their diagnosis and coping with short term memory problems. I also see clients with Fibromyalgia POTS and or ME who find it hard to get help or support from the NHS.

Although I see a lot of clients who have serious mental health problems I also see clients who are going through depression and or anxiety. This could be through relationship break ups, Coming to terms with having a disabled child and the impact on all the family. Workplace stresses and coping with the effects Covid has had on their working and home life.
I only see clients F2F or telephone, I do not do Video consultations
