About me
My name is Dr. Andrew John Cornes. I am a Chartered Psychologist and Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), registered as a Counselling Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and I have trained as a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist. I am the Director of Paragon Psychological Consultancy Ltd. I have experience and expertise in the psychological assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and adults in clinical settings, schools and family contexts. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults for the past 30 years in the UK and Australia. I have a very sound background in research at both Master's and Doctorate (Psychological Medicine) level and have published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals and a book chapter. I have presented my research and clinical work at local, national and international events, including the delivery of several keynote addresses. I am a Senior Fellow in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Melbourne, Australia. I am trained in The Positive Parenting Programme (known as Triple P) and in Webster-Stratton Parenting. I have run a private practice for the past 25+ years. I have a media profile and my opinions have been published in The Times (2015 to 2024). I have approximately 45,000 clinical hours as a doctor successfully treating patients for a range of mental health problems.
