About me
I am a Consultant Cardiologist and specialise in Cardiac Electrophysiology, the treatment of abnormal heart rhythms. I was a Consultant and Lead for Arrhythmia at University College London Hospital (UCLH) for 17 years, and operated at Barts Heart Centre, St. Bartholomew's Hospital for 10 years. I now work exclusively in the private sector at The Harley Street Clinic, HCA Healthcare. I assess and treat people with all types of heart problems, with special expertise in arrhythmias, especially atrial fibrillation. I am an expert in performing catheter ablation for all types of arrhythmia as well as implanting pacemakers, defibrillators (ICDs), loop recorders (Reveal LINQ), biventricular devices (CRT-P or D), conduction system pacemakers (CSP) and leadless pacemakers. I have performed >2,500 electrophysiology studies & ablations and >1,500 device implantations. I also implant left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) devices (the Amulet) for people who cannot take anticoagulants safely. I have >70 peer-reviewed publications.
Areas of interest
Catheter ablation; Implantable devices / device therapy; Heart devices; Pacing (cardiology); Arrhythmias; Atrial fibrillation; Radiofrequency ablation; Cardiac electrophysiology; Interventional cardiology; left atrial appendage occlusion devices; leadless pacemakers; conduction system pacing
