About me
I originally trained as a Registered General Nurse and later as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
In 1999, I qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and have been Accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies [BABCP] since 2000.
In addition to my clinical work, I have lectured at the University of Bangor, North Wales and the University of Chester, Cheshire. I also provide competency based clinical supervision for qualified and trainee therapists.
Areas of interest
I use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy [CBT] to treat adults [18 years and over] with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder; Acute Stress Disorder; Work-Related Stress Reactions; Specific Phobias, Depression, Anxiety Disorders i.e.Panic Disorder; with or without Agoraphobia, Social Anxiety Disorder, Health Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Insomnia, Chronic Pain and Medically Unexplained Symptoms.
