About me

Mr Jonathan Trickett is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Ashford & St Peter's NHS Trust and works privately in Surrey and Berkshire at the Runnymede Hospital in Chertsey and Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor. Mr Trickett is a specialist in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease and benign problems such as piles, rectal bleeding and pelvic floor problems such as prolapse. His is skilled in endoscopy, colonoscopy and polyp removal. He manages a range of proctology conditions and offers HALO procedure for haemorrhoids and Botox injection for pain control. He also does laparoscopic hernia repairs and transanal endoscopic microsurgery.

Mr Jonathan Trickett qualified in 1994 from The London Hospital Medical College and continued with his initial surgical training at The Royal London Hospital becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1998. He undertook his higher surgical training on the SW Thames Registrar Training Programme, completing specialist training in general surgical and colorectal laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. He was awarded a Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Fellowship in 2001, completing an MD thesis on colorectal cancer genetics at The University of Southampton and Cancer Research UK, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.

His specialist colorectal training was further enhanced by a year at a major Australian teaching hospital, Flinders Medical Centre.

He has a number of publications and has presented internationally on colorectal disease.

He was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon in Ashford & St Peter's NHS Trust in June 2008. He has extensive experience in many aspects of general and colorectal surgery, especially laparoscopic bowel and hernia surgery, colonoscopy advanced polypectomy and he has a particular interest in enhanced patient recovery and cancer genetics. He was lead and 'clinical champion' for enhanced recovery for colorectal patients for Kent, Surrey and Sussex Strategic Health Authority and academic health science network for 6 years.

He is Honorary Senior Lecturer at Royal Holloway UL, lecturing in cancer genetics on the biomedical sciences degree course.
