About me
Mr Coull is an Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons. He qualified in 1995 from the University of London and undertook his surgical training in the South-West Thames region. He completed his training with a much sought after Laparoscopic (keyhole) Surgical Fellowship in colorectal and general surgery at the UK's leading rectal cancer hospital in Basingstoke and is now on the teaching faculty to train other consultants in laparoscopic surgery at European surgical institutions in Paris, Hamburg and the UK.
He was appointed as a consultant surgeon at the Royal Berkshire Hospital to initiate the provision of laparoscopic TEP hernia repairs and laparoscopic colorectal surgery there.
Additionally, he has been awarded a Masters degree for research into Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
His current average length of stay for patients after colorectal cancer surgery is 3 days compared to the national average of 8 days and his successful colonoscopy completion rate is currently 99%, well above the national requirement of 90%.
Mr Coull prides himself on having first-class, honest, reassuring communication with patients and their next of kin to help them through their surgical procedures
