About me

I am a Consultant Cardiologist at the Bristol Heart Institute and North Bristol NHS Trust, where I have practised as a consultant since 2008. I look after patients with the full spectrum of cardiac conditions chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, high blood pressure, heart failure and heart rhythm disorders with a sub-specialist focus on coronary artery disease and the emergency treatment of heart attacks. I am an active member of Bristol's 24/7 primary angioplasty service and have personally performed over 3,000 coronary intervention procedures. In February 2026 I was appointed as a Standing Committee Member of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Interventional Procedures Advisory Committee, contributing to national evaluation of new health technologies, and I serve on the DVLA's cardiovascular review panel. My approach is to give each patient time, clear explanations, and a treatment plan based on senior expertise and the latest evidence.
