About me
Prof. Hart is a Consultant Hand, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon in the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, Glasgow & the Scottish National Brachial Plexus Service. His subspecialty remit includes hand / peripheral nerve surgery and reconstructive microsurgery. His private practice includes skin surgery, facial, breast, and abdominal cosmetic surgery.
He has an extensive academic record, is an invited speaker to professional societies, an invited member to select professional groupings, and is an Educational Lead. He is Editor-in-Chief of Europe's leading peer review Journal for Plastic Surgery (JPRAS), and holds a Chair of Plastic Surgery Research at the University of Glasgow. The programme of doctoral & post-doctoral research investigates novel approaches for peripheral nerve injuries, Tissue Engineering / the use of stem cells, and the refinement of reconstructive microsurgery for cancer, congenital, and acquired conditions. Grant funding has been obtained from NC3Rs (CrackitDRGnet) and Find a Better Way amongst others.
He trained in the Canniesburn unit, with periods in London, Manchester, New Zealand & Sweden. He completed the British Society for Surgery of the Hand Interface Training Fellowship in Leeds.
