About me
I have 16 years experience as a consultant colorectal & general surgeon in a busy NHS unit. I was appointed as consultant surgeon to the Royal Gwent Hospital in 2008. I underwent Higher Surgical Training in Wales, including 2 years of research into molecular biology of colorectal cancer at Swansea University. I was awarded a prestigious national laparoscopic colorectal fellowship for 6 months in Leeds. Under the tutelage of Prof Peter Sagar I gained advanced skills in laparoscopic surgery for cancer and inflammatory bowel disease and also surgery for advanced pelvic cancer and anal disorders.

All aspects of colorectal disease & colorectal surgery. All types of hernias (inguinal, umbilical, femoral, incisional). Lumps & skin lesions. All anal conditions. Colonoscopy; gastroscopy; laparoscopic colorectal surgery. I do not perform laparoscopic cholecystectomy or laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair.
