About us

James is an experienced specialist knee surgeon who works in the NHS at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre, Southmead Hospital, where he recently completed 3 years as Specialty Director for orthopaedic surgery, now being the Lead for Knees and Co-Lead of the Major Revision Centre for Knees at Southmead

He is a founding partner of Knee Specialists. All areas of knee treamtent are covered from assessment, imaging, non-operative and surgical intervention.

James is involved in research through the Bristol Knee Group and with Bristol University, where he also teaches medical students. James is on the BASK Executive as Education Chair and is the Treasurer of the Biological Knee Society. James teaches registrars and fellows at Southmead Hospital where he also receives visiting consultants. Wider afield he lectures both nationally and internationally and is a member of two national and one international consensus groups which establish the best current medical practice management in a number of subspecialty areas of knee surgery.
