About me
I am a chartered HCPC registered clinical psychologist with nearly 20 years of experience of working with adults to help them understand and manage emotional, relational and general psychological difficulties. These have been milder through to more complex difficulties including low mood, depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD, trauma, managing difficult emotions and low self esteem and self worth. Using a collaborative approach I aim to help people identify what they would like to be different and use psychological knowledge and therapy to work with them towards achieving their goals and coping more effectively with life.
Whilst tailoring the sessions to each individual’s specific needs and problems I am experienced in a wide range of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), systemic and psychodynamic. I am particularly interested in CBT models such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as compassionate and mindful approaches.
Life can be difficult and taking care of our psychological and emotional wee-being is important. My hope is to always provide therapy sessions which can be experienced as a safe, encouraging and supportive space. A place where each individual feels listened to, understood and helped to cope with and overcome the challenges and difficulties they are facing.
