About me
Dr Dawn Adamson is an Interventional Cardiologist who treats private patients at BMI The Meriden Hospital and Nuffield Warwick Hospital.
Dr Adamson is an associate medical director (AMD) an Interventional Cardiologist at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire and is also lead for the obstetric Cardiology and Adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) services
Dr Adamson qualified from St Mary’s Medical School, Imperial College, London in 1993. She did her cardiology training at St Mary’s, the Royal Brompton and the Hammersmith Hospital and was awarded an Interventional Fellowship at the Hammersmith Hospital.
Dr Adamson now practices intervention at UHCW and is part of a large primary angioplasty service. She has sat on faculty at British Interventional meetings and currently has a role as a trainer for junior cardiologists. Whilst training in angioplasty, Dr Adamson spent one day a week at Queen Charlottes Hospital training and later developing an obstetric cardiology service. This has led her to gain national and international recognition within the field of obstetric cardiology and she has recently written the Oxford Handbook on the subject. She also holds the roles of Treasurer for the UK Maternal cardiac Society, Secretary of the West Midlands Physicians Association, Clinical Lead for Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OOHCA)for the East and West Midlands, and sits on the NHS England Expert advisory group for OOHCA. She also works closely with a both AMEs for CAA medicals as well as national and international racing medicals.
