About me

Professor Kipps is a Consultant Neurologist at Wessex Neurological Centre (Southampton) and Royal Hampshire County Hospital (Winchester) and Professor of Clinical Neurology and Dementia at University of Southampton. He provides neurology assessment and post-diagnostic care for all neurological conditions. He has a particular interest in cognition (dementia) and movement disorders (Parkinson's disease).

He has an active research programme in dementia and long-term neurological conditions, and leads a range of interventional and observational trials. He is a clinical lead for the Wessex Clinical Research Network (CRN) and the Wessex Clinical Network and Associate Medical Director for R&D at University Hospital Southampton.

Areas of interest

General neurology including headache, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, loss of consciousness, collapse, head injury and neuromuscular conditions including neuropathy (nerve damage) and motor neurone disease;
Cognitive disorders including memory impairment and all types of dementia;
Movement disorders including tremor, Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease;
