About me

Mr Mo Majid is the go-to Senior Private Consultant Cataract, Refractive, and Vitreo-Retinal Eye Surgeon!

He was born in and educated in Bristol and subsequently became a Consultant at Bristol Eye Hospital for 15 years! He sees his private patients in Bristol and across South Wales. His patients fondly call him "Mr Magic" and with good reason.

He is an expert in Cataract Surgery and is the longest established and most Experienced Premium Lens Surgeon in the South West and South Wales region. He uses all of the latest lenses including Premium Multifocal and Toric Lenses as well as Standard monofocal lenses. His complication rate is amongst the best in the country at 0% on the National Eye Surgeons Audit database.

He has advanced skills in managing problems related to cataract surgery and is the ‘Go-to-Person’ for all types of Cataract and Lens Surgery, second opinions and repairing complications.

Mr Majid has been invited to be one of the first surgeons in the UK to implant The new 2024 Clareon Toric & Clareon Panoptix lens and now also the 2025 Rayner Galaxy lens.

He is a Renowned Expert in Cataract surgery and also advanced vision correction surgery. He has a Distinction in the Postgraduate Diploma of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, which puts him at the top in the Country for this grade!

He also offers Implantable Contact Lens Surgery for patients of all ages looking to remove the need for glasses and contact lenses.

As well as his skills in Cataract and Vision Correction, Mr Majid is a Renowned Expert in Retinal Detachment and Macular Surgery, Medical Retina, Uveitis and Eyelid Surgery, having passed Advanced Senior Fellowships in all of these disciplines. Extremely few Consultants have such Broad and Extensive Training!

Mr Majid is regularly referred patients from all over the South West of England and Wales for his expertise in managing complex surgical problems and also sees patients from overseas by special request. He has operated on other eye surgeons and their families, which is a testament to his Skill and Composure as a Surgeon.

Because of his extensive training background, Mr Majid has been in a position to personally supervise the training of over 50 Senior Trainee Surgeons from Countries as far and wide as USA, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Germany, Spain, South America, Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Syria, Pakistan, India and more. He has trained them in the disciplines of Advanced Cataract Surgery, Medical and Surgical Retina, Ocular Inflammatory diseases and Oculoplastic/ Orbital Surgery. It gives him a great sense of pride and satisfaction that they now practice as Consultant Eye Surgeons all over the world!

Throughout his career, he has been involved in many pioneering clinical research trials, leading to new innovations and has published many papers in internationally recognised Medical Journals.

Mr Majid was also awarded a PhD from the University of Bristol. Very few UK Eye Surgeons hold a PhD as well as a Medical Degree, which is another badge of pride and honour!
