About us

Dr Kalpesh �Kal� Parmar qualified from the University of Birmingham in 1995. He completed his basic surgical training in London and Birmingham through the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh before undertaking advanced specialist training in Sports and Exercise Medicine in Australia.

After five years of training in Canberra and Sydney, Kal returned to the UK in 2006 to become Club Doctor and Head of Medical Services at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. He later joined Leicester Tigers Rugby Football Club as Club Doctor, Lead Sports Physician and Clinical Governance Adviser. He remained with the club for 13 years before establishing his own specialist sports medicine clinic, **Elite Sports Professional Services**, in Central London.

Kal has treated sports injuries, musculoskeletal conditions and exercise-related illness since 2001. His experience spans grassroots sport through to elite international competition and encompasses a wide range of sports.

His appointments have included working with the Australian cricket team, the Wallabies, the Brumbies rugby union team, the Sydney Swans AFL reserves, South Sydney Rabbitohs rugby league team, the Matildas�Australia's senior women's national football team�and the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos, Australia's national men's and women's hockey teams. He has also worked at the Sydney International tennis tournament.

Kal has provided medical support at major multisport events, including the World University Games in Belgrade, the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the 2015 European Games in Baku.

Reflecting his particular interest in mountain and expedition medicine, Kal provides medical support to TurnWild, an expedition company. His role encompasses remote medical advice as well as accompanying clients on overseas expeditions to destinations such as Mount Kilimanjaro.

Alongside his clinical practice, Kal lectures and teaches widely in Sports and Exercise Medicine. His previous academic roles include teaching Sports Medicine and Performing Arts Medicine at University College London. Through Medipoint, a Belgian radiology organisation, he also trains radiologists in diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound techniques used in professional sport.

Kal holds master's degrees in Sports Medicine and Medical Ultrasound. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK and serves as an appraiser for the Faculty.

Outside medicine, Kal is passionate about the outdoors and the ocean. He maintains his own fitness through regular hot yoga and swimming, freediving and hiking.
