About me
Carin is a registered dietitian with a passion for using a whole foods diet and a functional medicine approach to helping her clients regain her health and thrive. She completed her undergraduate dietetic studies at the University of Stellenbosch in South African, followed by obtaining an MSc in sports nutrition from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Carin helps her clients discover their ideal diet using a science-based approach and personalised diet and supplement recommendations (where indicated). She has completed further studies in the dietary management of diabetes, gut disorders, weight management, cognitive behavioural therapy and functional medicine. She has completed the highly regarded Level 1 Adapt Kresser Institute Functional Medicine course. Functional medicine essentially addresses the underlying causes of disease, engaging both the patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership and addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. Carin is passionate about focusing on a client’s lifestyle and addresses diet in addition to other aspects such as sleep, physical activity, stress management and habits.
