About me
About me
I qualified from the Institute of Psychiatry, London, as a Clinical Psychologist and since then I have worked in University settings and in the NHS in Wales. For many years I was involved in training clinical psychologists.
For over 40 years I have been helping people with a variety of emotional and relationship problems. I am a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and Fellow of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy.
As well as offering general psychotherapeutic support I introduce strategies from a range of talking therapies including traditional cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and newer developments, principally ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and positive psychotherapy (this is based on positive psychology, sometimes labelled the psychology of happiness.
I offer therapy to adults with anxiety problems (including generalised anxiety, panic, health anxiety and social anxiety); stress (including work-related stress); obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); depression and low mood; insomnia; anger issues; low self-confidence and adjustment to major life events such as retirement. I also work help people with their personal development and I help individuals and couples with relationship issues.
