About me

I was a respected historian of medicine before studying clinical medicine at Cambridge. Junior medical jobs followed in Cambridge, London and Oxford, before I completed my specialist training in neurology in the North-West of England. I spent twelve months as a clinical research fellow with Professor Peter Goadsby and Dr Holger Kaube of the Headache Group at the Institute of Neurology in London.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am the President-Elect of the World Headache Society, a former Chair of the British Association for the Study of Headache and Trustee of The Migraine Trust, and a member of the Medical Advisory Board of the Trigeminal Neuragia & Facial Pain Asscoiation.
