About me
Ani has worked as a Counselling Psychologist since 2000. She is an Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Europe Accredited Practitioner, an International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) Certified Advanced Level Schema Therapist and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy from the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre. She has training in Narrative Exposure Therapy from Elizabeth Schauer, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy from British Isles Training, and training in group therapy from the Institute of Group Analysis and ISST.
For individual work, Ani uses EMDR as her main model along with thinking from other models as appropriate. She also believes it is important to attend to the potential impact of the context and culture of a client's history and present life. She believes in client and therapist working together collaboratively towards the client’s goals, in a safe space, while using the latest research to help get the best outcomes possible.
Ani specialises in early and later life trauma. She works with clients with a range of presenting problems, such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), childhood trauma & Complex-PTSD, depression, self-esteem, anxiety (general, phobia, panic attacks), eating disorder, Obsessive-compulsive disorder, Body dysmorphic disorder, health anxiety, insomnia and sleep disorders, and relationship difficulties.
In addition to her direct clinical work, Ani provides supervision, consultation and training to other mental health professionals.
