About me

I firmly believe that everyone is doing the best they can in their life, everyone is important and worthwhile, and anyone can change.Whether you feel life could be better or you feel life couldn’t be much worse, I will endeavour to help you find a way through. I do not offer magic solutions, counselling can be hard work and progress can be slow or painful. It may not be the right time for you to talk, or talking about things may make you feel worse at first. Many people say that counselling does not make their problems go away, but that they feel better able to cope with them. I practice from a person centred perspective and use a combination of approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA), in order to help individuals and couples with a broad range of therapeutic needs. I respect that everyone’s problems are very complex and unique. Therefore I believe that a flexible approach has the potential to meet a client’s particular needs at a given time during counselling. Working primarily on a Short-Term therapy basis (typically between six and eighteen sessions), I help individuals and couples over the age of sixteen with many different issues and therapeutic aims. As well as my work in private practice, I also fulfil other counselling/therapy roles. I provide a safe, Professional, friendly and confidential service to individuals and couples in the Cheshire, Wirral and North Wales area. Having trained separately in phsycology and counselling, I tailor the service I provide to suit the specific needs of each individual client/couple I work with. I am an Accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As such, I adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
