About me

Dr Hemmings is an HCPC registered Chartered Counselling Psychologist as well as Psychotherapist. He has had many years of experience working in the NHS and third sector organisations. He also worked as Research Fellow at the University of Sussex for twelve years . He was director of a research team with a particular focus on Psychological interventions in Primary Care. He has published extensively nationally and internationally. He was Chair of the Psychotherapy Section of the British Psychological Society. Until recently he was Professional Head of Psychology for a primary care mental health team in Kent and director of Sussex Alcohol and Substance use Service.
