About me
Mr Jambulingam completed his higher surgical training in the West Midlands, at University Hospitals in North Staffordshire, Coventry and Birmingham. He spent a year in the Liver Transplantation Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, where he passed the intercollegiate specialty examination in 2004 and obtained the CCST. He completed a years Post CCST fellowship in OesophagoGastric and advanced laparoscopic surgery at UHB. He is trained in laparoscopic cholecystectomy, antireflux surgery, diaphragmatic hernia, inguinal and incisional hernia repair
He has been working as a Consultant General Surgeon with a special interest in Upper GI/ laparoscopic and weight loss surgery at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital NHS Trust since July 2007. His NHS practice reflects his subspecialty training in minimally invasive surgery. His practice includes general surgery, benign and malignant GI surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, hepatobiliary and weight loss surgery.
His special interest is oesophago-gastric surgery which includes the management of acid reflux disease in the form of laparoscopic hiatus hernia repair, fundoplication, giant hiatus hernia repair and achalasia cardia. He has visited the Cancer Institute Hospital and the National Cancer centre in Tokyo. He performs minimally invasive oesophagectomies (MIO) and gastrectomies for cancers and GIST tumors at Hammersmith Hospital, London. He is a Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial college, London.
He is a part of the specialist team offering weight loss surgery at the Centre of Obesity Research at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital for the East of England. He has attended bariatric training courses in Hull, Taunton, Bruges in Belgium, Rotterdam and UPMC, Pittsburgh. He performs Laparoscopic gastric bands, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric roux en y bypass and revisional bariatric surgery in a mutli-disciplinary team setting.
He performs laparoscopic inguinal hernia repairs extra-peritoneally (TEPP) which facilitates treatment of all groin hernias and incisional hernias. He performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy including dilatations & insertion of stents.
