About me

I have been a Consultant Dermatologist since 2007 and my NHS work is at the world renowned St John's Institute of Dermatology at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust. I specialise in Paediatric Dermatology and my NHS work combines clinical dermatology with research, particularly in treating severe atopic eczema in children. I recognise the profound pscyhological effect of skin disease on peoples’ lives and I am secretary of the UK Psychodermatology society which promotes research and greater understanding and treatment of this important aspect of skin disease. I work in a holistic way to address both the clinical and psychosocial effects of skin disease on my patients’ lives as these are often overlooked by the medical profession. I have extensive experience in treating skin cancers, sun damage, carrying out mole checks, removing lumps and bumps.
My private work is undertaken in East Kent where I work at the BMI Chaucer hospital, the Spencer Wing at Margate and the Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic. Here I see adults and children with inflammatory skin disease eg. eczema and psoriasis, acne, suspected skin cancers, mole checks, lumps and bumps, hair and nail problems.
