About me
As a general surgeon I am the senior provider of laparoscopic hernia surgery in the Swindon and Wiltshire area, providing keyhole hernia operations since 2008. (www.herniaclinic.co.uk).
As director of hernia services for the Independent Health Group I also am one of the main hernia providers offering local anesthetic hernia operations in the community.
I am the clinical lead at Great Western Hospital General Surgery Department responsible for improving and reducing surgical site infection rates. This involves leading a team of nurses and theatre staff at improving standards and optimising patient care through care adherence to the best operative and theatre techniques. Through these approaches together patient outcomes and experiences are improved with very low post operative infection rates
My role as Royal College of Surgeon Surgical Tutor for the Great Western Hospital (NHS) allows to train junior surgeons in laparoscopic techniques and Breast Surgery.
In my spare time I work with the Mercy Ships charity training West African surgeons in safe surgical techniques.
